TEVITOL students are going to UWC.

What is UWC? (United World Colleges)

     UWC schools are the sole Non –Governmental organisation which focuses on gathering students who are from different countries and had been chosen without supervising financial opportunities.

     This chosen students are still meeting at 13 United World Colleges in order to support international sensibility and peace.

TEVITOL and UWC

    In Turkey, the students can go UWC after 10th grade and they study IB 2 years in UWC.

    Last year, 4 TEVITOL students have gone to UWC schools.  They are Zeynep Alara Saltık, Cengiz Cemaloğlu, Bengisu Pay, Dicle Ece Nacitarhan.  Zeynep has gone to South America, UWC Costa-Rica. Cengis has gone to Hong-Kong, Li Po Chun UWC. Bengisu has gone to Bosna Hersek, UWC in Mostar. Ece has gone to Hollanda, UWC Maastricht.

    In 2011, 3 TEVITOL students  have gone to UWC schools. They are in India, England, Italia. In 2010 one TEVITOL student has gone to Italia, UWC Adriatic.

INTERVIEW  WITH  12^th  GRADERS

   I asked some questions to some of 12^th graders. They answered to me even they had lots of works.  For not taking too much time, I asked just four question and I learned the university they aimed and subject that they want to study about. Finally they said to me the message they want to give prep students.

   Firstly I talked with Ekber,  he studying IB. He consulted Oberlin College, Kenyon, Drexel, SIT, Washington and Lee, Hobart and Williams, Gettysburg. He wants to go especially Drexel  and he wants to study about maths. He told us “Be patient, it will pass, too” . After that, I talked with Ahmet Kayagil, He was very busy because he is study both ÖSS and IB. He consulted Swarthrome and he wants to study about engineering. Then,  Atakan Özkan answered me. He is studying ÖSS and he wants to go to Boğaziçi, and study electrical and electronic. And I talked with another ÖSS student Neşe Ümit, she wants to go Özyeğin University and study about gastronomy. When I requested to say us something she said “When I am passing in Preps hallway, just a few students and always same students  say hi, I am getting upset. You have limits among yourselves, you are not to go beyond the limits. You can talk with us, we are not scary persons”  Another ÖSS student Hakan Çelik, who wants to study in ODTÜ industrial engineering , say similar things “ Be less shy, you can talk with us”.  And then I talked with a IB student, Elif Su Uysal, she was so helpful. She consulted Stanford and Colombia and she wants to study about computer science. She says to us “When I was a prep student, I was in Green, too. And now, look at what happened?”. Then, I talked Utku Yeloğlu, he is study IB and he wants to study at Waterloo, about mechatronic. He said to us ”Stop playing around, get to work!”. And I talked another busy student , Dağhan Koyuncu studies ÖSS and IB.  He wants to go Stanford, engineering or  Koç , medicine. Alpinnaz who study ÖSS, take aim at go to Galatasaray University, sociology. She said to Preps “Don’t start to study now, be ready for futurity because it won’t finish.”   Finally, I interview with Ali Baran , he is ÖSS student and he wants study about music, he said for university “ it doesn’t matter”  . When I requested for giving advise , he said “Read plenty of books. Don’t just read think about something. Be interrogative. Don’t  accept everything without querying. Don’t believe everything you read and learn. Learn making comment. Develop some ideas but don’t take them as dogmas. Avoid from fanaticism and illiberality. These are not just for period of prep class, you take these advice for your life. Don’t afraid of talking and arguing. Don’t stop the love and respect.”

The Best Alumni

Demir came to the TEVITOL one week ago.

Every year alumni come to TEVITOL where is their home, they miss here; because they gained experiments, improved themselves and learnt a lot of thing about life, art, math etc. in TEVITOL. They built their future life so they want to see changing things in here. They wonder new prep students and they want to meet with them. For example, Demir is one of alumni. He graduated from TEVITOL and he went to university in Debrecen. He came to our school a week ago. He afraid of become an alien in our school so he wants to meet prep student. If he does not meet with new preps, almost 5-6 years later, no one knows him so he met some preps. When alumni come to school, they see their memories in everywhere because they lived lots of thing in corridors, classes… They met their old teachers, friends and they want to show their success to their teachers. Demir came to school because of these reasons and he is jealous of old alumni. And other reason is miss school, his friendships so much. The worst thing is they can never meet new prep students.
